NCRA, our national court reporting association, is supported by working court reporters, CART Providers, court reporting students, instructors and legal videographers.  We have national certifications at different skill levels. To maintain your certifications, you must remain a dues paying member and attend continuing education seminars.  Your membership lapses and your hard-earned certifications are in jeopardy if you haven’t paid your dues by the end of December.
Each year, the membership committee makes an effort to reach out
to those members whose memberships have lapsed. The committee consists of working reporters who volunteer their time manning NCRAs phone bank.
This past weekend, myself and five other reporters volunteered
at NCRA’s annual Phone-a-Thon. Our call list was 1800 members strong. Our goal: collecting dues from at least 200 members. I’m proud to report by the close of business Saturday, the number 200 was collecting dust and now I can add the skill “telemarketer” to my resume’!
